My name is Yolanda Campbell Lifter and I thank you for your interest in my research services. As an Ohioan by birth, I enjoy helping others search for their Ohio roots. Although Ohio is my specialty, I also perform research throughout the United States.

I am available for three types of research: hourly, census, and tombstone photography.
Hourly Research
$30.00 per hour of research with a five-hour minimum plus expenses (vital records, copies, postage, etc.). I do request prepayment of the first five hours of research before I begin my work ($150.00). The client will be billed for any additional fees.
$40.00 per hour of on-site research (research done on location in Ohio or other states) with a five-hour minimum plus expenses (mileage, vital records, copies, postage, etc.). I do request prepayment of the first five hours of research before I begin my work ($200.00). The client will be billed for any additional fees.
Part of my research time is spent reviewing the information the client has provided, planning my course of action, and composing my final report. Additional research may be required to meet the needs of the client.
I am able to research various types of records including birth, census, death, marriage, obituary, and probate. I have a large personal library with many Ohio resources.
Please remember that genealogical research done correctly does take time and often involves collecting data from external sources (probate courts, NARA, health departments, etc.) and results may not be available immediately.
I cannot guarantee I will be able to solve your genealogical problem(s) since the availability of information varies from county to county as well as from individual to individual.
Census Look-ups
$5.00 per census year for a specific individual/family in a specific county plus copy fees (copies sent to the client and for my files) and postage. Copies of census pages are $1.00 each. Example: Samuel Campbell, Highland County, 1880.
Tombstone Photography
$5.00 per tombstone photograph in addition to $40 per hour and expenses (mileage, developing, and postage).
I am available for on-site research in Ohio at least twice a year. I always spend at least 2 days at the Ohio Genealogical Society in Mansfield (approximately 25,000 books).
On my last trip to Ohio (Nov 2003), I visited numerous cemeteries and research facilities in Brown, Clark, Clinton, Franklin, Greene, Highland, Lucas, Miami, Richland, Ross, Stark, Warren, and Wayne Counties.

Additional research trips to Ohio as well as other states may be arranged at the request of the client.
The fees I charge are for my time spent researching and not for the information itself.
